Frequently Asked Questions
About the kits
Which grades are the school project kits for?
CAPS Technology, Grades 7 to 9. Grade 7: the jaws of life, the electromagnetic crane and the cell phone tower. Grade 8: the mine headgear. Grade 9: the bridge. See all school project kits.
Do I need glue?
No. The laser cuts the tabs and slots to meet within a fraction of a millimetre, so the parts push together without a drop of glue.
What are the kits made of?
3 mm MDF or plywood, cut in our workshop in Gauteng.
How will I know how to build it?
Every part is labelled, and each kit comes with a short 3D animation of the whole build, so you can watch it once before you touch a single piece.
What if a part doesn't fit?
Every kit is built once by hand before it is packed, so it shouldn't happen. If it does, that's on us: WhatsApp us with a photo and we'll put it right. More on the returns page.
Do you only make school projects?
No. There are also 3D wooden puzzles like our T. rex skeleton, model aeroplanes, model cars and vehicles, and wooden toys like the marble run.
